AI Measurement & Tailor Collaboration FAQ

Our AI scanning system leverages advanced MediaPipe pose estimation and computer vision algorithms. By capturing two standing photos (front and 90-degree side profile) using your standard smartphone camera, the system detects 24+ anatomical landmarks (shoulder points, bust apex, natural waist contour, hip curvature, inseam). It calculates your 3D volumetric contours with sub-centimeter accuracy based on reference proportions and your height.

NO. Your raw camera photos are processed ephemerally in volatile memory solely to extract mathematical vector coordinates and dimensional measurements. The raw photos are immediately destroyed and never permanently stored on our servers. Tailors ONLY receive the numerical measurements (e.g. Chest: 38.5 in, Waist: 31.0 in, Sleeve: 25.0 in), NEVER your photos.

Navigate to the Custom Orders portal or browse our Vetted Designers directory. Choose an artisan, initiate an in-app chat, and upload your design reference images, fabric choices, and event date. Once the tailor provides a formal price quote, accept it and make your 30% milestone deposit to begin.

Traditional custom tailoring carries risk for both sides: clients fear paying upfront for bad work, while artisans fear clients defaulting after fabric has been cut. Our escrow system protects both parties by holding 100% of the funds in secure custody and releasing payments in stages (30% Deposit -> 50% Cutting -> 70% Fitting -> 100% Delivery Approval).

If a custom garment deviates by more than 1.5 inches from your confirmed measurement profile, you are protected by our Free Alteration Guarantee. The artisan must alter the garment free of charge. If the tailor fails to resolve the fit within 5 business days, Fashionistar mediates an instant escrow refund.
